This evening the jukola relay will take place and also some Belgian runners will be present:

1555 male runners will be present at the startline at 21h50 (among them the 3 big favourits: Kristiansand OK, Kalevan Rasti and Halden SK).
The womens relay (Venla) was won by Tampereen Pyrinto ahead of Ulricehamns and Halden SK.

Bericht van Peter Bleyens aangaande de lenteloop in de kazerne van Oirschot op 30 juni:

Indien je van plan bent om op 30 juni te gaan lopen in Oirschot, gelieven dan je naam en adres op te geven aan peter.bleyens@telenet.be, dit is nodig omdat de wedstrijd door gaat in de kazerne en de veiligheidsofficier hier om gevraagd heeft.

Belgian national team @ Trondheim open

2 Belgian national team runners competed in Norway this weekend. Both Fabien Pasquasy and Michel Bastin are selected for WOC in Trondheim, so it was a good opportunity to run in similar terrain. The competition included a sprintrace (friday), a middle distance (saturday) and a long distance chase start race on sunday. Fabien Pasquasy performed strong, specially today in the chase start. He finished in 5th position, only 4 minutes slower than winner Anders Nordberg.

Belgian champs mountain running

Yesterday the Belgian champs mountain running took place in Malmedy. The weather was nice, the sun made race even more tough. Sven Nijs (always performing strong in tough cross races) won this competition. He ran 2 laps from 5.5km each (including 500m climbing each lap) in 51'37. Two orienteering runners completed the podium. Fabien Pasquasy finished in 2nd position and Pieter Hendrickx became 3rd. Also Michel Bastin and Thomas van der Kleij were in the top10.
