Tristan Bloemen wins EYOC sprint

Today the sprint distance at EYOC took place and Tristan Bloemen is the first Belgian winner ever. In Meymac (France) Bloemen was the fastest in H18 (the highest level class at this event) by doing a solid performance. He won 5 seconds ahead of a Russian athlete: Dmitry Polyakov.

As written on worldofo, eyoc is the step before the Junior World Championships where the Gueorgiou’s and Niggli’s of tomorrow get the first opportunity to test themselves against competitors from all over Europe. Tristan Bloemen took this opportunity and showed his talent today. Bloemen is also selected to represent Belgium at jwoc in Slovakia next week.

Also other Belgian runners did a good citysprint race. Elke Verdeyen finished 6th (D16) and Evert Leeuws became 16th (in the same class as Bloemen).

Tomorrow the long distance race will take place and sunday it ends with a relay competition.
