Pasquasy zonder problemen naar finale
Fabien Pasquasy kon zich zonder grote problemen kwalificeren voor de finale. Met een 7e plaats op iets meer dan 3 minuten van winnaar David Schneider, hield hij zelfs favorieten Andrey Khramov en Marc Lauenstein achter zich. De andere Belgen: Michel Bastin (17e), Greet Oeyen (22e) en Vinciane Mulpas (26e) konden zich niet bij de eerste 15 lopers plaatsen.

Good starting place for Fabien in Long distance.
In front of him 2 young runners:
Ruslan Glibov and Scott Fraser, with in between them the experienced slovak runner Marian Davidik. And behind him Mats Haldin (4th on WOC long distance 2007, silver on EOC long distance 2004 and winner of WC 2002 in Brno.
