Belgian Championship Middle - Wéris
Today the belgian championships middle distance took place in Wéris, a small town in the walloon region. Big favorite for this race was Fabien Pasquasy, always a favorite, but on hilly terrain even more. Pieter Hendrickx could be tipped as "best of the rest". The first to start were Bart Delobel and Etienne Vangasse, 2 medal candidates as well.
Their finish was spectacular, both runners arrived falling down on the ground after punishing the last control. It was Etienne who caught Bart in the beginning of the race. Etienne set a time of 39' (Bart was 2 minutes slower). Most of the best runners weren't started yet and had now a target time.
Christophe Bernard, another medal favorite was the next to arrive and had a good time, but we see him at the bottom of the ranking now because he mispunched a control. Michel Bastin was the next to arrive, he had a time of 45' and is definitely not in his best shape.
After this there were 3 HAMOK-runners starting closely to eachother, Jeroen Hoekx, Dries and Thomas van der Kleij. All a little bit disappointing with times of 41' (Dries), 42' (Thomas) and 44' (Jeroen). Thomas definitely had a good shape but made 2 major mistakes at control number 1 and 4.
Only 4 favorites to arrive at the finish now, Pieter Hendrickx first, he beated the best time of Etienne with 2 minutes. Nicolas Sillien, arrived less than a minute late to beat the time of Pieter and was in second place when he arrived.
But we had to wait for 2 more runners, Fabien Pasquasy and Joost Talloen. Fabien started 4 minutes after Joost, at the spectator control he was already in front of him and had a cracking splittime. If Fabien didn't make any mistakes he would win ones again. He didn't and finished in 33'. The gap with second place Pieter Hendrickx was never this big: 4 minutes. Joost Talloen made to many mistakes and had the 7th time overall.

Fabien did it like Luder did it on springcup just an outstanding solid performance..
Control 1 and 4 seems to be the important ones

Vraag me af waar Katrien Bruyninckx zich aant voorbereiden is. Weet iemand waarom ze D-kes aant lopen?
